Inglewood

Inglewood Golf Club is an easy walking, 4700 metre, beautifully groomed, testing golf course. It is situated on Lepper Road, five minutes north of Inglewood and 15 minutes south of New Plymouth.

The club was established in 1907 with the first course situated at the bottom of Kahikatea St. In 1927 the club shifted to Durham Rd where Mr Alfred Marshall allowed the club to play on his property without cost. When Mr Marshall gave up farming in 1960 the club leased 50 acres at Kaimata before purchasing the current property on Lepper Road in 1964.

A huge community effort has resulted in a beautiful course now being fully established with the most recent improvement being a magnificent new clubhouse extension.

The course enjoys some majestic mountain views on a number of holes. Tree-lined fairways demand accuracy off the tee and into the greens. Out of bounds and hazards form an integral part of the course with only the 15th having neither.

Good scoring on the six par three’s often ensures a good round with the 190 metre par three 12th hole being the most difficult on the course.
